King Price’s Natalie Graham Takes the reigns at IING
Newly-appointed president of the Insurance Institute of Northern Gauteng (IING), Natalie Graham, says the South African insurance industry must focus on training, transformation and service if it’s to weather the changes buffeting the sector.
Graham, partner of the broker channel at King Price – or, as she’s known at King Price, the queen of broker business – succeeds Santam’s Anton Coertzen at IING. “My passion is service,” says Graham. “Anton’s tenure was firmly focused on training, and I’d like to combine his legacy with my expertise to create an organisation that’s relevant to our members going forward.”
Ladies Golf 2019

“Our Annual Ladies Golf 2019 was held at Kimiad on the 11th April and played over the par 3, 6 holes course. It was very well-supported by our insurance ladies, those who can play golf and many that have never played golf before. It is great that the event had its biggest participation since inception, with 77 ladies taking part! Great fun was had by all the ladies with many laughs and many missed swings.
The day was sponsored by three companies, who provided refreshments for the ladies at a few of the tee off boxes. We wish to thank the following sponsorship of the event and all the refreshments that they provided on the day.

The day was won by the three ladies from....

“Life Insurers exist to help you. But you need to help them too"
Many people believe that insurers try to find reasons not to pay claims – but this couldn’t be further from the truth, says Brad Toerien, chief executive officer of life insurer FMI.
“The reality is that we actually encourage people to claim, because it’s the very reason for our existence, and, when we pay someone’s claim we deliver on our brand promise,” says Toerien. “We strive to pay valid claims as smoothly and as efficiently as possible, always striving to exceed a client’s expectations when it comes time to claim.”

“Cyber Liability Policies – who needs them?
Cyber insurance appears to still be a mystery, although the first cyber liability policies appeared 20 years ago. What is covered? What is excluded? Why does the customer need it? Does the customer need it? All of these questions and more come to mind when we consider cyber liability.
One of the struggles comes from the fact that the policy forms are different from each other, and we don’t really know what’s in the forms. They look so different and don’t have the names that we’re used to.”
