Wayne Krause: National Underwriting Manager at Hollard Marine
Wayne Krause is a highly accomplished marine insurance expert whose illustrious career spans more than 37 years. He has extensive experience as an underwriter and broker and is also an expert business developer.
As a high achiever acknowledged for excellence in his field, Krause has held prominent positions at a number of high-profile organisations where he has demonstrated his skills and expertise.
As the Head of Cargo and Logistics Underwriting at Victor Insurance UK, he helped shape the company’s success in the marine insurance sector.
At Marsh, Krause held the position of Head of Marine Placement, where he not only managed a team of brokers but also orchestrated marine placement operations. With his sharp insights and expert knowledge, he was pivotal to the organisation’s success.
During his tenure as the Head of Marine at Aviva (United Kingdom), Krause led the marine team in London and other regions with a strong focus on cargo, freight liability and hull.
As the Line of Business Head (Marine) at Tokio Marine Kiln, he developed and implemented the marine underwriting strategy for the UK and Europe – a remarkable feat.
And that’s not all. He has also worn several other hats, including Operations Vice President and Global Cargo Underwriting Manager at FM Global; Chief Underwriting Officer (Marine) at Zurich Financial Services; Managing Director at Nacora International Insurance Brokers; Marine Development Underwriter at Norwich Union; Broker at Thompson Bett and Marine Assistant at Aegis Insurance Company.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Krause savours life’s simple pleasures in his free time. He enjoys travelling, the great outdoors and listening to jazz, as well as good food and great company.
With his wealth of experience, exceptional leadership and genuine passion for his industry, Krause is a respected National Underwriting Manager who has already made his mark on the world of marine insurance.
